'Geddon 09 (a be-lated saga)

Tue Jun 16, 2009, 5:59 PM
Well, I attended my second outdoor belegarth event. It was a lot of fun, I'm pretty glad I went. My brother's graduation ceremony was a bit chaotic, but I'm glad I was able to go and thankful that Jamie was willing to take me (even if he was a bit grumpy ^____^).

Wednesday night Jamie (Kracken) and I arrived. Went out to Wal-mart for food and other assorting items *ahem* Waffle, Ironside, Wilhelm, Froz and myself crammed into Waffle's SUV (thank god it wasn't Kracken's car). Got totally lost on the way as I could not remember how to get there, but the trip was fun nevertheless. That night we had a bunch of people in Khador's campsite and I [tried to] play the guitar.

Thursday was interesting. Attended a flourentine class that was taught by the one and only Sir Kirian, which was pretty awesome. Got a lot of really useful tips. Really can't say I was all that interested in Sin Night but getting to interact with people was fun. Wanted to attend the Virtue Night that Lady Sorcia was throwing with Hydra (there was a silly-hat party!) but I missed that. Developed a bit of a stomachache, but bread and water got rid of that pretty quickly.

Friday was neat. First thing that morning, Kracken, Wilhelm, Fiora and I went to an event planning class. Got some really neat ideas for a little Khador mini-event that I would like to run one day. Fished most of the afternoon while waiting for feast (Bo makes awesome gyros.) Managed to catch a couple of fish. Spent the rest of the night with Annihilis, gutting and cleaning the fish while Kracken and the others went to run circle of Doom. Shiny. The night ended with me in a bit of a dismal mood, and rain, but sleep definitely helped.

Saturday was a bit of a mess. Woke up at 4:30 to go to my brother's graduation ceremony only to find it was raining (we were told that if it was raining the ceremony would be held inside with limited space.) So I called my parents and they said they'd call later when they figured out what was going on. Fast forward to 8:00, we get a call from my mother and find out the ceremony's still going on, so Kracken and I hustled to get there (he didn't seem particularly happy about that.) We made to the ceremony, and ended up standing for most of it (we didn't see the others until the very end.) Despite having stood for about two and a half hours, and listening to very long speeches, I got to watch my brother receive his bachelor's degree (it was fantabulous!). Afterwards, we helped him finish moving out of his room (a bit chaotically, might I add) and then it was off to my uncle's house for pizza. Kracken didn't seem in the best of moods throughout the day...

Anywho, we went back to the campsite that night (got lost a couple of times), packed our stuff and went back to Freeport.

So that's my (mostly) 'geddon experience. It definitely was a lot of fun, despite the bumps. Getting to see my brother graduate though was definitely the highlight of the weekend, though.
